The Project Coordinator is key in reaching this vision by supporting multiple projects in achieving complex tasks and milestones while meeting schedule and budget targets.
Position Overview
As Project Coordinator, you’ll be accountable for maintaining multiple concurrent projects. You’ll maintain schedules, including key tasks, milestones, and deliverables. Project milestones may be significant design files, documents, reviews, prototypes, or demonstrations. In this capacity, the Project Coordinator will ask:
Is it on track?
Do we have the right resources?
What evidence supports our progress?
The Project Coordinator reports to the Program Manager. Performance within this role will be evaluated on the quality of planning, monitoring, and effective identification and reporting of project concerns.
Responsibilities and Authorities
Maintain schedule for assigned projects using Gantt charts or equivalent. Sit in on project meetings to understand tasks, milestones, and deliverables. Support in plotting schedule. Monitor progress of the tasks to flag any risks to schedule, as well as changes:
Are resources supporting all active milestones?
Is there a clearly defined Responsible contributor for each project milestone and deliverable?
Are milestones and deliverables being progressed and completed on schedule (are expected and trending dates know)?
Have significant events occurred that change project timelines or scope?
Are project budgets progressing as expected?
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project is highly desirable.
Formal certification in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, Lean) is preferred.
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet) is considered an asset.
