Purpose
Responsible for the fabrication and assembly of ultrasound transducers for various medical applications.
This role reports to the Transducer Production Manager. Performance in this role will be based on:
Meeting or exceeding targets for transducer fabrication & assembly.
Adherence with Daxsonics manufacturing, Quality, and safety policies.
Alignment with Daxsonics Values.
The position is a multifaceted role that includes a variety of fabrication and assembly skills. The scope of this role includes:
Using microfabrication equipment to process raw materials
Application of epoxies and adhesives
Assembly of components to build functioning devices
Responsibilities and Authorities
To fulfill the scope outlined above, the essential responsibilities are:
Execute work instructions for fabricating and assembling ultrasound transducers for various applications, including processing various wafer materials.
Operate microfabrication equipment such as precision micromachining lasers, micro-dicing saws, lapping / polishing machines, wire bonders and physical vapour deposition machines.
Execute accurate and repeatable precision thickness measurements using a drop gauge
Inspect various micro-machined components using microscopes, high-resolution cameras, vector-network analyzers and surface profilers for adherence with fabrication requirements.
Collect and compile operational or experimental data
Solder printed circuit boards and other components.
Assist in the design, development and testing of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and systems
Log and report observed failures and NCRs
Provide feedback to the engineering team to optimize fabrication processes.
Qualifications
Technician diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering, or equivalent.
Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team.
Be able to read and understand technical documents such as mechanical and electrical drawings.
Experience working with machines and laboratory equipment.
Excellent writing, documentation, and oral communication skills.
Highly organized and able to work independently, as well as in a team.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
