Role Purpose
This role is accountable for the design, planning, research, evaluation, and testing of electrical equipment and systems. This role reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager. Performance for this role will be based on:
Meeting or exceeding targets set with the Electrical Engineering Manager and Program Management.
Responsibilities and Authorities
Design and Development
Design and implement electrical components for integrated systems, including complex active PCBAs and fine-pitch interconnects for transducers.
Produce schematics, layouts, and documentation that meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action
Investigate design or production defects related to electrical components and assemblies.
Perform structured root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
Manufacturing Transfer & Production Support
Contribute to manufacturing transfer activities for active electrical components (ex. PCBAs), including defining acceptance criteria, inspection protocols, and required test equipment.
Assist in developing or refining custom test fixtures and inspection tools as needed.
Early‑Stage Engineering Input
Provide electrical engineering input during early project phases, including concept development, feasibility assessment, and risk identification.
Advise project teams on technical trade‑offs, integration considerations, and system‑level impacts.
Compliance
Follow established policy, process, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Expertise in Electronic Design and Testing
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Experienced with Function Generators, Oscilloscopes, and Network Analyzers.
Preferred Experience
Experienced with OrCad Capture and PCB Editor (Schematic and Layout)
Experienced with circuit simulation tools such as LTspice, PSPICE, etc.
Familiar with PCB stackup design, and best-practice layout strategies for high-frequency implementations.
Hands-on and ready to work in the lab, soldering test fixtures and board modifications as part of bring-up, root-cause activity.
Ready to define and document highly technical documents for verification and validation.
Ability to consider feedback objectively, with a commitment to excellence.
